Last week, 7 Transition Year students attended a firefighters awareness course in Rathkeale Fire Station, Limerick. Over the 5 days, the students were trained in fire extinguishing and road traffic collisions, took part in fire service drills, and earned certificates in First Aid, CPR and manual handling. As well as this they received talks from people in the Garda Road Policing section, Paramedics, and a variety of people in the Irish Fire Service.
