We have launched our annual 12 days of Fire Safety for Christmas. Throughout the 12 days we will be sharing fire safety tips and advice that you can follow to minimise the risk of fire over Christmas.
Christmas is all about food, fun and spending time with family and friends, but it also brings a higher risk of fire. With more candles, cooking, open fires and electrical devices in use, it’s important to stay fire-safe during the Christmas. The NDFEM is urging everyone to adopt a fire safety routine before going to bed. It’s important to remember that once a fire begins, it will stop at nothing. The NDFEM encourages everyone to stay alert and take steps to “Stop Fire Starting.” This includes removing potential fire hazards in the home, ensuring you have working smoke alarms, and preparing an escape plan for you and your family in the event of a fire.
