Fire Safety Information Session for Industry Professionals held in Carlow

Recently, the Technical Fire Safety Section of Carlow County Fire & Rescue Service hosted an interactive Fire Safety Information Session for industry professionals and persons in control of buildings within Co Carlow.  This innovative open approach by SACFO Ray Regan and ACFO Ryan Lally provided information for persons responsible for buildings with regard to their responsibilities and duties under the Fire Services Act for fire safety within their buildings. In addition to industry professionals who engage with the Carlow Fire Authority when representing building owners/occupiers applying for Fire Safety Certificates, Licensing and when representing building owners/occupiers for any other matters regarding fire safety.

This event was very well attended – working together for a safer Carlow!

A/CFO Ben Woodhouse:

‘We continue to focus on installation of domestic smoke alarms and improving home fire safety through various community fire safety initiatives across domestic dwellings within Co Carlow, particularly focussing on older home owners who from recent fire statistics show to be at high risk of a fire in the home which may unfortunately lead to injuries and in some cases fire fatalities.  However it is also important we promote the work we do when administering aspects of the Fire Services Act with those persons responsible for buildings in relation to fire safety.  I wish to acknowledge the open, proactive and innovative approach taken by SACFO Ray Regan and ACFO Ryan Lally by hosting this session for persons with responsibilities for fire safety in buildings.  Working in collaboration with industry professionals and building owner/occupiers in relation to fire safety is very important to provide for fire safety for those who use these buildings.  I expect those who attended left with an increased knowledge regarding their responsibilities for fire safety in their buildings.’
